D.R.S.A.B.C.DWHAT IS D.R.S.A.B.C.D?
It is a procedure, it will help you remember the basic steps to save someone's life. If an accident occurs and you are in the position needing to help them DRSABCD are the steps you need to follow. The steps are used so that you can keep the person breathing, reduce pain and the impact of any injuries until an ambulance comes. The different letters stand for what you need to do or check. |
WHEN WOULD YOU USE THE D.R.S.A.B.C.D STEPS?
If it looks like someone is unconcious or have been knocked out then you should start the DRSABCD procedure. If the person is still breathing normally it will not be as serious and there will not be any need to use CPR to help them breathe. HOW TO DO D.R.S.A.B.C.D
1.DANGER- you must check for any danger. this is because if one life is already at risk but is in a danger zone never put yourself in there swell because then there will be two lives at risk. 2. RESPONSE- you must check if the person is able to respond, this can be checked by telling them to squeeze your hand or asking them questions. 3. SEND FOR HELP- if the person will not respond to you then it is a serious matter, you must send for an ambulance or for any kind of help. 4. AIRWAY- to check if there is anything blocking the persons' airway you can look into their mouth and stick your fingers in to get out what is causing them to not breate. 5. BREATHING- after you have cleared their airway you must check if they are breathing, this is checked if you put your head close to their mouth to listen for any sign or looking at their chest for any rising. 6- CPR- if the person is not breathing you immediatly start CPR. you do 30 chest compressions and 2 breaths into their mouth, when you breath into them you must look at their chest for any rising to make sure that you are breathing enough air into their body and to make sure that their airway is not still blocked. You do this until any help comes or until he patient recovers. 7. DEFIBRILLATION- This is only used when none of the above have made an impact on the persons' breathing pattern or pulse. You have a defribulator and place it on the unconscious persons chest, this will force their heart to start pumping. |
